Taste is a bit more “chocolaty” than say Slim-Fast and nearly as smooth. Really impressed. Bought a few cases for a co-worker who is both Diabetic and Lactose Intolerant and would have to adjust his Insulin just to enjoy “regular” Chocolate Milk with a meal. Shelf Stable without refrigeration but taste best cold, thick enough to pour over a few ice cubes as well. Really impressed.

After asking for recommendations from a vegan for plant-based meal replacement options, this product was recommended to me. Reluctant to spend too much on another icky meal replacement drink, I initially hesitated to hit the Buy Now button…but am so glad I did. This Orgain shake is tasty. It isn’t pasty or grainy in texture, has a nice mouth feel, and the vanilla flavor is nice (not overwhelming or artificial). I prefer it cold, but it’s pretty good at room temperature, too.

Orgain Organic Vegan Plant Based Nutritional Shake does the job the body needs! It’s a much better value than Nepro. It does not contain a lot of potassium and phosphorous in comparison to many supplemental protein shakes, in which, may be positive if too much potassium/prosperous is the causing toxicity. We just feel that the price is a bit much for 12 rather than 18 like another retailer has. Thank you!

I really like these for when I don’t have much of an appetite. I have MDD and these are so helpful. I just don’t understand why the price has gone up so much in the last two months though. The added vitamins, while helpful, are not high quality, so what is it?

Backstory: 2 years ago my mom got stage 4 cancer out of the blue and for no reason (no drugs, not a heavy drinker, not overweight, not a smoker, etc.)She got oral squamous cell carcinoma. Unfortunately, it spread to her cheek, her entire lower jar, and even her chin. She had a 21-hour surgery to have part of her cheek, part of her chin, and all of her bottom jaw removed and it was “remade” using a bone in the leg that was surgically removed and “shaped” to be her bottom jaw along with titanium. She also had 3 skin grafts and was cut from ear to ear to remove all of the cancer properly. In the interim between her being in ICU for a few days and me being at home getting things ready for her, I knew I had to find something HEALTHY and nutritious for her to drink (through her feeding tube). I set up with Kate Farms. They are a great company and have good roots. After the surgery, she was brought home to me and I was her caregiver and her advocate. The HOSPITAL was trying to push Ensure and Boost on me and I pushed back with a big NO. I wanted her to get healthier, better, stronger, and not get worse. (Please always do your research and do what is right for you). As soon as she got home I started giving her Kates. Not JUST for nutrition but because she could not eat anything. At all. Even now, my mom has a very hard time with food. While Kate’s IS a great company they have:Some issues with their packaging lately (they use tetra like most companies) but it leaks and because it leaks it essentially makes the whole box undrinkable. They have taken care of this for me, but it continues to be an issue. I once had 10 BOXES (12 containers each) of Kate’s donated and 8 of the 10 boxes were undrinkable. That is a frustrating and annoying experience.High prices – and recently raised them even higher!I am ALWAYS on the lookout for a new option.Since I use orgain protein powder daily (peanut butter FTW!) in my shakes and the RTD orgain was on sale I thought I would give it a go.Texture: The texture is odd. It has an almost slime factor to it.Flavor: Definitely not as good as Kate’s. She did a blind taste test on me and then I did it to her and we both agreed Kate’s tasted like a really good chocolate milk! And while kates has even more vitamins in it than Orgain, you can’t TASTE those. Orgain’s chocolate is less chocolatey and more watery and you can taste something in it, whether it be the vitamins or something else, who knows!Price: Can’t beat it with a stick. While we did not like them, this review is not done with malice, GGs to them for making such a healthy dang drink and making it affordable as heck – ir’s almost unheard of and companies are always trying to TOUT a HEALTHY product and then sneak something bad into it. Anyone can afford these and I also noticed that these have the EBT label on them as well – which I think MORE healthy drinks should have!We have 11 more to go, maybe in that time she will start to change her tune about the flavor, but in the meantime, that sums up my review.Thank you for reading.P.S – She is cancer free now (another clean bill of health 10/22, she did not do radiation or chemo so YAY for that!!!

My partner has been going through chemotherapy and radiation and weight loss with a hard time eating is part of that. He cannot tolerate milk products so we had to find a substitute. And I came across. This is our second purchase of these they were great he loves to taste of them and they help him fill in his diet when he’s not eating as much
